Last night, the Oporto Toastmasters held the World Championship of Public Championship 2008. The winners on evaluation and speech categories will represent the club in Madrid in April.
The contest had 4 participants. I have participated, delivering a speech about children. What can we learn from children.
These contests are important for the club and for its members. This year winner was Nuno Faria with a brilliant speech titled “Where are you from?”. The quality content, Nuno’s great attitude and a fantastic delivery made him a winner. He completely deserved this award. Congratulations Nuno (he is the man in green, in the family photo)!
Raquel Pereira was the winner for the evaluation category. She has done a great job, when it comes to evaluating speeches. Great comments and an accute and sensible way to recommend improvements to all fellow members. Certainly, a great candidate for Division Winner!In the end, i came in 2nd place! Next contest, i will be there again to “fight for the big prize”.
